Born the second son to Darrin and Elizabeth, Brandon’s early years were overshadowed by adversity. He endured significant abuse at the hands of his mother, Elizabeth, who later succumbed to a drug overdose. This early trauma left indelible marks on Brandon, shaping his perspective on life and love.

Seeking a fresh start, Brandon moved to Florida to live with his father. While his relationship with his father, Darrin, offered more friendship than parental guidance, it provided him a respite from the abuses of his past. However, the shadow of substance abuse still loomed large, claiming Darrin’s life just as it had Elizabeth’s.

The successive losses of his beloved grandparents—the spiritual anchors of his life—added to his burdens. Yet, amidst this sea of grief, a ray of hope shone through with the birth of his daughter, Berlyn. Tragically, this light was dimmed when Berlyn’s mother also died due to a drug overdose, and legal complexities prevented Brandon from gaining custody of his daughter.

Fighting a relentless battle with depression, Brandon’s life ended tragically in November 2023. His decision to end his pain left our family and all who loved him in profound grief, questioning how such suffering could remain hidden.
